Need to get away? How about a vacation at John Wayne’s old beach house? Food lovers – what about dinner at your place hosted by Trey Davis from Sweetwater Restaurant? Or for the conservationist in you, how does a five-day field biology expedition to Tanzania sound?
All of these fantastic opportunities are up for grabs through the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival’s online auction at www.charitybuzz.com/jhfestival. Proceeds raised will support our FREE community programming, local education initiatives and our inaugural Jackson Hole Conservation Summit, putting a special focus on the world’s Great Apes! The summit will be held at the start of the film festival, September 21st-24th, and will bring together specialists in the fields of great ape conservation and primatology including a keynote address by world-renowned chimpanzee expert, Jane Goodall.
The ethos behind the auction is to really bring together and celebrate all that Jackson Hole has to offer, from its rich culture to the unbeatable local wildlife and environment.
The JH Wildlife Film Festival will run from September 23rd-27th, and will see the biggest and brightest of the natural history film world come together – not only to showcase their films, but to explore the relationships between media and conservation, explore new technologies and also reach out to the local community through film workshops and events.
Many packages have been donated by local businesses and individuals, including:
- An all inclusive wolf and grizzly tour of Yellowstone National Park
- Luxury ski vacation packages
- A glass blowing workshop
- Country and western dancing lessons
- A framed image by premier nature photographer, Tom Mangelsen
There is also a unique international demographic of ‘Festival Friends’ who have made in-kind donations to the auction, including the exciting five-day conservation adventure with Dr. Laly Litchtenfeld.
